CS 882 Course Project Protein Planes
نویسنده
چکیده
This study is a review of the properties of protein planes. The basis of the research is the covalent bonds along the backbone of the protein, since the plane is defined by these atoms. We will measure the values of the bond lengths and the angles between the bonds to determine the consistency of these values in the PDB. We will go further to measure the lengths of the planes and omega, the dihedral angle that defines the plane. Finally, we will look at secondary structures to see if there exist preferential angles between the peptide planes and the axes of the secondary structure. The results show that the first two properties are consistent and are reliably used for the purposes of refinement and structure prediction. The angles related to the secondary structures were less consistent, but the average value found for the alpha helix matched what was claimed in the literature. The other secondary structures have similar accuracy, and the preferred angles discovered are novel results based upon the literature review.

Magnetic resonance cardiac vein imaging: relation to mitral valve annulus and left circumflex coronary artery.
OBJECTIVES To evaluate in vivo anatomical relationships between the coronary sinus-great cardiac vein (CS-GCV), the mitral valve annulus (MVA), and left circumflex coronary artery (LCX) with cardiovascular magnetic resonance. BACKGROUND The CS-GCV has become an anatomical structure of interest because it provides a way of access to the heart for a number of interventional procedures. Previous...

The project to be described in this paper is being presented to a group of 26 students in a course that deals with modern software development using C#/.NET(and using a book soon to be published with the same title “Modern Software Development Using C#/.NET” by Richard Wiener, 711 pages, Thompson Course Technology, April, 2006. The students are new to the C# language and the .NET framework but ...
متن کاملMolecular dynamics simulations of cesium adsorption on illite nanoparticles.
The charged surfaces of micaceous minerals, especially illite, regulate the mobility of the major radioisotopes of Cs (134Cs, 135Cs, 137Cs) in the geosphere. Despite the long history of Cs adsorption studies, the nature of the illite surface sites remains incompletely understood. To address this problem, we present atomistic simulations of Cs competition with Na for three candidate illite adsor...

متن کاملCS 229r Notes
A lot of the course material is new, within the last 10 years, and since the area is so ripe for contributions, the project will be cutting-edge. There are three possible routes: Make a theoretical contribution to some topic in the course; write a survey covering many related papers in an area (one option is to be risky and try to make a contribution and fall back on a survey if you’re not succ...
